Local Clubs Unite to Support Bowls Community in Tamworth

South Tamworth Bowling Club and West Tamworth Bowling Club have come together to ensure the continued delivery of bowls, hospitality, and community services for the people of Tamworth.

In the spirit of local collaboration and community support, STBC will provide short-term operational assistance to WTBC over the coming months, helping WTBC maintain essential services while they assess longer-term options.

Matthew Hill, CEO of South Tamworth Bowling Club, said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to keeping community clubs strong.

“This is about standing by our local bowls community and ensuring bowlers and patrons—no matter what side of town they’re from—continue to have a welcoming place to play, connect, and belong,” Mr. Hill said. “We’re proud to offer support and to work together in the best interest of the sport and our community.”

Both clubs have reaffirmed their focus on member wellbeing, community access, and the preservation of lawn bowls in the Tamworth region. Discussions are ongoing regarding longterm strategies to protect and grow the game locally.
